The accomplishments of WWE Hall of Famer Tito Santana are both numerous and legendary. Santana joined the WWE in 1978 and remained continuously employed by them until 1993--one of the longest runs on top of the sport in history. In that time he won both the Intercontinental and Tag Team titles twice (with Ivan Putski and Rick Martel). He competed on the first nine WrestleMania, as well as the first SummerSlam, first Survivor Series and first Royal Rumble (where he drew #1 in the first ever Royal Rumble match). His feuds with Greg Valentine and Randy Savage are legendary, and his rivalries with Magnificent Muraco, Rick Martel and Cowboy Bob Ortan are also well remembered. He has faced numerous other Hall of Famers in his career including Hulk Hogan, Paul Orndorff, Sgt. Slaughter and Iron Shiek (whom he challenged for the WWF title in 1984). After departing WWE, Santana would compete in the nationally televised
AWF, where he would become their first champion. He also spent time in
the early days of ECW. He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.
Tito wrestled for AWESOME in the main event of our aptly named Night of Legends and Champions Event in 2008 where he defeated the muscular Deimos to chants of "You Still Got It" from our AWESOME fans.
