A death defying hardcore high-flyer in the mold of Sabu, Shea wrestled in the very first AWESOME match when he outlasted Draven Blaze and Rhett Titus to become the Jersey Shore Cruiserweight Champion at The Era of AWESOMEness Begins. Unfortunately the win was not without contorversy as Shea used a top rope flip piledriver through a table on Blaze when he captured the crown. Blaze would go on to protest the decision (as the match was not stated to be under hard-core rules) and Commissioner Joe Rules was forced to strip Shea of the title.
